Sogbety Diomande's West African Celebration

One of the most amazing performances I've ever experienced was Sogbety Diomande's West African drum and dance company at the Mohican Outdoor School in Butler, Ohio back in 2006. I was TOTALLY blown away by the drumming, costumes and dancing which even included the use of stilts and real live fire! It's hard to imagine if you haven't seen it.Originally from the Ivory Coast in West Africa, Sogbety Diomande was born in the village of Toufinga, a small farming community located in the Northwest region of the Ivory Coast near the border of Guinea in Africa. He moved to the US in 1997 and has been performing and teaching drum and dance ever since.
