Cleo the Cow

My Dad, Ron Reed, named his cows after his relatives. Just as his Aunt Cleo outlived all of her relatives, Cleo the Cow outlived all of Dad's cows, and the 1500 pound hereford became his favorite. Dad entertained many people with the story of Cleo, her unfortunate death, and the darkly comic aftermath.

I've retold this story for a children's picture book. In November, the artist Joe Lee will begin work on the illustrations! Here is a link to his work: Joe Lee’s Etsy profile & shop page and here is a set of circus tarot cards he illustrated, amazing!

In the meantime, you can check out the text to Cleo the Cow by clicking this link. If you have any ideas about the text or illustrations, please let me know!
